Description

This is a refined Arab classical architectural panel design — the kind of ornamental floor work found inlaid into a grand palace hall or marble parquet ceiling. At the centre, two facing fan-shaped rosette medallions meet inside a quatrefoil cross frame, divided by a tall diamond-lattice trellis panel running through the middle, the whole medallion ringed in a continuous Greek-key fret border. Around it, a symmetrical grid of rectangular cartouche panels holds dense floral scrollwork and corner bouquets, echoing classical coffered panelling, while the wider field is covered in a fine diamond trellis scattered with small floral sprigs. A broad anthemion-and-scroll guard border finishes the edge in a solid colour band.

Crafted in India using 100% natural wool, the dense cut pile — finished at approximately 23mm — gives this architectural panel design real structure and a precise, palace-floor feel underfoot.
