This is an Arab Classical mihrab-medallion design — a pointed, niche-shaped medallion filled with intricate floral fretwork anchors the centre of an open lozenge-framed field, finished top and bottom with a slender finial. A fine vine guard traces the inner edge, framed by a wide anthemion-and-palmette frieze border and a delicate rope guard stripe at the very edge.
