The Natural Round Rope Border Jute Rug from Kaleen Baba combines a calm natural centre with two concentric braided rope borders in teal and golden olive — creating visual depth and colour without complexity. The result is a rug that feels contemporary yet handmade, layered yet calm.

The centre is crafted from 100% natural undyed jute in warm cream-white, braided in traditional concentric rows. Two dyed jute ropes are then hand-braided and hand-stitched in place — first a thin golden olive band, then an outer teal border with an open-weave pattern that lets light pass through. The colour is structured, not scattered. The layers are distinct but related.

Round in shape. Layered in design. Handmade throughout. This is a rug that proves restraint and craft are stronger than decoration.

Care Instructions

1. Vacuum gently in the direction of the braid on a regular basis.
2. Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth — do not rub.
3. Keep away from prolonged moisture, as jute can degrade in wet conditions.
4. Avoid extended exposure to direct sunlight to help preserve colour depth.
5. Use a non-slip rug pad on wooden floors for added stability and floor protection.
