                         Dyeing & Color

Rug dyeing is an ancient craft that lets artisans create stunning designs. First, we carefully select the yarn. Light-colored yarn is chosen for lighter dyes, while darker yarn is picked for deeper shades. The texture of the yarn is also key, as it affects the overall quality of the rug. By blending different types of wool, we can create yarn that’s just the right mix of softness and durability.

Our dyes come from trusted sources like Colourtex and Hunstman. We then craft our unique color recipes, offering a palette of over 3000 shades. Plus, we can customize colors to fit your exact needs. Our dyes are eco-friendly and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified, ensuring they are safe and sustainable. They don’t bleed or damage the yarn, resulting in rugs that are not only beautiful but also long-lasting.

Dyeing & Color Processes

Abrash/Antique

Abrash or Antique rugs have a special charm thanks to their natural color variations. These variations come from different batches of yarn and the aging process of the wool. This gives each rug a unique and character-filled look.

Mottling

Mottling is when two colors or fibers are woven together to create a beautiful, mixed color effect. It gives the yarn a dynamic, shifting appearance.

Overdyed Rugs

Overdyed rugs originate from Turkey and are all about breathing new life into old, faded, or worn rugs. This technique involves layering vibrant colors over the existing design, creating a rich, saturated look with a contemporary twist. It’s like giving traditional rugs a modern makeover!

Solution Dyeing

In solution dyeing, synthetic fibers have color embedded right into them during production, making them more resistant to fading. This is different from yarn or piece dyeing, where the color is added afterward and only coats the outer layers of the fibers.

Space Dyeing

Space dyeing involves coloring yarn with multiple colors along its length. The result is a beautiful, unpredictable pattern in the finished rug. These colors can either contrast or complement each other, adding a subtle, artistic touch.

Tie-Dyeing

Tie-dyeing involves tying and retying yarn before dyeing it. This process creates parts that absorb more dye than others, resulting in a unique, inconsistent color pattern that mimics the abrash effect.

Undyed Wool

Undyed wool rugs showcase the natural beauty of the wool. These rugs are made from wool that hasn’t been treated with dyes, highlighting the material’s inherent characteristics for a pure, organic look.

Color Psychology

Choosing the right color for your rug is more than just picking a favorite shade. Every color sets a tone and creates a mood, influencing the atmosphere of your space.
